Resident Artists Program

Resident Artists Program

This is a special program offered for emerging and experienced artists who don't really need a class but who want the space, time, flexibility and facilities they need to develop their own work and their creative voice at their own pace. (Not incidentally, "Resident Artist" looks good on a resume and can help when applying for work/study programs at places like Penland and Arrowmont.) With their enrollment, all resident artists receive open studio time 24 hours a day, six days a week, use of the studio's photography equipment, and participation in the annual Resident Artists Exhibit and Sale. Plus resident artists who wish to do so will learn to make glazes and load a variety of kilns.

Please Note: To register for the Resident Artists Program, you must have pottery experience, know how to hand-build and throw on the wheel, and be able to work independently.

Residencies are $150 plus $35 materials fee per calendar month (the materials fee includes all studio glazes and electric kiln firings)
